The annual BC Athletics Awards Banquet took place in Richmond on Saturday night with three Vancouver Thunderbirds receiving recognition for their accomplishments in 2007.

At the Dempsey Indoor track and field facility on the weekend Thunderbird Mike Mason made history as the first British Columbian ever to clear 2.30. In Imperial, that's 7'6 1/2"! Mike has qualified for the World Indoor Championships in Spain, which will give him valuable experience
