Thunderbirds Impress at Lafarge International
It came down to the wire yesterday, but three Thunderbird athletes proved with an impressive series of throws that they belonged on Team Canada at the Lafarge International Track Classic held in Richmond. Liz Gleadle, Kyle Nielsen, and Curtis Moss all threw the FISU World University Games qualifying standard for the second time on the last day of the qualifying period, making them eligible for Team Canada heading to Serbia later this year. Liz Gleadle threw a solid 55.19m, exceeding the qualifying standard of 54.00m. Kyle Nielsen and Curtis Moss both bettered the 71.00m standard late yesterday evening with the crowd of the meet clapping behind them. Congratulations to these athletes.
